Pokemon is a new MOBA for Unite Mobile and Nintendo Switch. During the recent Pokémon presentations, the Pokemon company confirmed Pokemon Unite, a brand new MOBA and Nintendo Switch coming to the mobile platform.
Pokemon Unite brings a successful franchise to the MOBA genre and Tencent’s TiMi Studios are developing the title. While the game is a free to play game, it will involve subtle transactions, which will likely throw a wrench into the game’s strategic elements. Pokémon Unite will be available for iOS, Android and Nintendo Switch soon, although no official announcement has been made of it.
When last week’s Pokémon presentations took place, fans were happy to hear about another upcoming, big Pokémon title, announced in another Pokémon presentation. While expectations were high, with many other Let Go games and others expecting Diamond and Pearl remakes, Pokémon is a completely new idea for Unite IP. In several versions of the trailer shown during Pokémon Presents, Pokémon Unite is being disliked by fans, who waited a week as a weaker announcement than New Pokémon Snap.
Pokemon Unite is being developed at Tencent’s TiMi Studios, a 5 vs. 5 MOBA, which splits maps that will be familiar to fans of League of Legends, Smite and DOTA 2. While many Pokemon fans may be more hypnotized than New Pokémon Snap, Pokémon Unite is a free-to-play title that they can give a shot at without much risk. While we await other Pokémon games, trying Pokémon Unite for free is a very good selling point and could be the next big MOBA.
